Notice of postponement for the Uptown public meeting
The Uptown Core Growth Area Review public information meeting originally scheduled for May 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakville Town Hall has been postponed until the end of June 2025. Additional information will be provided in the coming weeks and posted on the Uptown Core Growth Area Review page.
However, the public information meeting for Zoning in Oakville’s residential Heritage Conservation Districts will still take place on May 14. Details below.
Zoning in Oakville’s residential Heritage Conservation Districts
If you're interested in conserving the town’s residential Heritage Conservation Districts, join us on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakville Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road. The engagements will be in an open house format and staff will be available to answer questions. Pre-registration is not required.
Oakville has four Heritage Conservation Districts (HCD), three of which are residential - Old Oakville HCD, First and Second Street HCD and Trafalgar Road HCD. The upcoming engagement is focused on these HCDs as part of the ongoing review of zoning for residential properties south of Dundas Street. The event will feature a series of maps and diagrams about key zoning issues in the three HCDs and provide information on permitted building heights, setbacks and gross floor area.
An online survey is now available until the end of May 19, 2025.
Zoning determines what can be built on a property, including the size and type of dwellings, driveways, and landscaping. The heritage engagement on May 14 responds to previous broader public consultation held in 2023 and 2024. Public input is critical at this current stage in 2025 to help finalize recommendations to Council later in the year.
More details are available on the South Oakville Residential Zoning Review page.
