Be a Rock Star on Canada Day!

Ever dreamed of being a rock star? Now’s your chance — enter the Town of Oakville Rock Star Contest!

Take the stage with Canada’s ROCK STAR LIVE during Oakville’s 2025 Canada Day celebration on July 1 at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. Perform live with a professional band featuring musicians from top Canadian acts.

Ten lucky winners will be invited to sing iconic Canadian rock anthems karaoke-style in front of thousands of cheering fans.

How to enter

• Submit a 30-second video of yourself singing a Canadian classic karaoke-style. Be sure to state your name and age.
• You must be a resident of Oakville.
• Share your video on any Town of Oakville social media channel.
• Follow us @townofoakville and tag your entry with #OakvilleRockStar so we don’t miss it.

Contest rules and information

• Your video will be juried by the Canada Day team.
• Open to Oakville residents ages 10 and up.
• As lyrics will be provided on a screen, all participants should be comfortable reading lyrics and willing to perform live on stage in front of an audience.
• Only contest winners will be contacted. Thank you in advance to everyone who applies.
• Ten winners will be contacted by the Canada Day team and must attend a mandatory meeting in mid-June to confirm their participation. At that time, you will choose from a selection of Canadian hit songs for your performance.
• Join us at the Town of Oakville’s Canada Day celebration on July 1 from 5 to 10 p.m. and sing your heart out!
